The UF-HHMI Science for Life Program and The UF Honors Program are proud to present the second annual NERD 5K (Novel Education Reward Day 5K)! Help us raise money in promoting higher education to grade school students in disadvantaged and underrepresented areas of Florida.
Come dressed as your favorite nerd and support a great cause!
NERD 5K Book Drive
Bring a book to donate to Kids Count in Alachua County and receive a $3 disount on race registration!
Use Coupon code "BookDrive" during registration to receive your discount. Drop books off on the day of the run during check in.
All books will be donated to Kids Count in Alachua County. Kids Count is a nonprofit organization that provides a free after school program for kindergarten through 3rd grade students in low performing elementary schools in Gainesville. They are in need of emergent reader books and math activity books; however, they can also use any children’s literature book that can be read aloud to small groups for reading fluency or large children’s picture books. Fundrasier at Jason's Deli
Come out and join us at Jason's Deli on Thursday, October 9 from 5 - 10 pm. Simply drop your receipt in the donation box and Jason's Deli will donate 15% of your meal to the N.E.R.D. 5K! This will help us provide for the event set-up, as all the run's registration funds go directly towards furthering kids education. Commit to the Groupriase Event and help us spread the word on Facebook.
