Emergency Food Network (EFN) is Pierce County's emergency food distributor, providing more than 75 food pantries, meal sites, and shelters with more than one million pounds of food each month, at no cost to them. Families experiencing food insecurity have to decide between paying for food and other basic needs like housing, transportation, and medicine. In 2023, EFN distributed more than 14 million pounds of food and supported more than 2.6 million visits in Pierce County.
EFN leverages donated, purchased, and government food with produce grown at Mother Earth Farm to distribute 2 meals for $1.
