Snap Series #1- Kessler Mill Road 2-Miler- Proceeds to Benefit Rowan Price

The Kessler Mill Road 2-Miler is a flat and roaring fast out-and-back race on the cinder surface of the Kessler Mill Trail in Salem, Virginia.  With a slight decline, this race is ready to test your leg turnover and foot speed with very few turns and long straightaways.  

Parking will be at Parkway Brewery in Salem, VA.  The start is only steps away from the parking lot on the Kessler Mill Trail.  Bathrooms will be available at Parkway Brewery.

Race begins at 10:00 AM.  The after-race awards celebration will be housed at Parkway Brewery.  Awards for the top three in each age group will be given.

In place of T-shirts, we have elected to donate all profits to the Price family. 

All proceeds for this race will benefit Rowan Price- 4 year-old diagnosed with AML M7.  AML M7 is an aggressive and rare form of leukemia for children. 

***Update: Since Rowan's passing last week, this race has turned into a Memorial Run with all proceeds benefiting the family with memorial expenses***

Packet pickup will at Parkway Brewery on Friday, October 4th from 6:00 PM-8:00 PM and on race day up until the start @ 10:00 AM.  

This race is part of the Snap Series Races.

Note: Depending on entries, wave starts may be necessary to accommodate the number of runners on the trail.

WHAT IS THE SNAP SERIES?

The Snap Series began in 2019 as a way to connect with the community by providing quality Racing in a fun environment.  Currently it is a series of four races (one for each season) that tests the fitness of individuals over various types of terrains and distances. 

WHAT MAKES YOU DIFFERENT THAN OTHER SERIES?

We want to see who is truly a Road Warrior by racing over various surfaces and distances for each season during the year.  It will test your grit and keep you from locking into the standard 5K road race training.

HOW DOES THIS WORK?

By running in any Snap Series race, you earn points based on your performance.  Races begin in October and end in June.  Highest Point Total for Males and Females will be calculated over the all four races in the series.

The Point Breakdown is simple:

Overall:

1st Place-100 Points

2nd Place- 90 Points

3rd Place- 80 Points

Age Group:

1st in your Age Group- 50 Points

2nd in your Age Group-30 Points

3rd in your Age Group- 10 Points

4th in your Age Group- 9 Points

5th in your Age Group-8 Points

6th in your Age Group-7 Points

7th in your Age Group-6 Points

8th in your Age Group-5 Points

9th in your Age Group-4 Points

10th in your Age Group- 3 Points

Awards?

Medals will be given to the Top Three Overall and Top Three Age Group Winners in each of the races.  A special prize awaits the top male and female Road Warrior at the end of the series for the highest point total.  They will also receive free race entry to any Snap Series races FOR LIFE.
