Description

Weather Update:

I spoke with Scott Valentine this morning and he decided he's like to go ahead with the event for Saturday. The weather is all over the place, depending where in NJ you are, for both Saturday & Sunday.

If we can't ride he would still like to go ahead with a celebration of life and remembrance of Josh and all he did for the ALS community at the Log Cabin Inn starting at 12:00PM.

If we're able to ride that will still go off at 12:00.

Thank you for supporting the Joshua Valentine Memorial ALS Adventure Grant! Three families have taken an adventure in Josh's memory since the grant was established.

We will still have t-shirts for those that registered and for sale as well as a 50/50

Best,
Donna York
Hark-ALS

Embrace the Ride is a motorcycle ride in memory of Joshua Valentine to benefit The Joshua Valentine Memorial Adventure Fund established by Hark-ALS.

The Fund was  established in memory of Joshua Valentine, an adventurer and survival specialist who developed a wide range of experiences in the wild, which ultimately led to guiding, instructing and expeditions around the world. Whether scaling rock faces, navigating predatory jungles with indigenous guides, or simply having fun on his own turf at the Delaware Water Gap, Josh always loved to embark on an adventure. Even with his world travels, Josh always made time to be a voice for the ALS community. As such, HARK-ALS (HARK) determined it was only fitting that the Joshua Valentine Memorial Adventure Fund will be used to award an annual grant to an ALS patient or family member to participate in an adventure of their choosing.

Josh was instrumental in developing and completing our documentary, Hope on the Horizon, he traveled on behalf of HARK nationwide to film screenings, fundraisers for ALS families, colleges and medical schools. Through his travels to ALS communities, Josh shined a light on the courageous battles of the unspoken. He was the voice of my father and ALS patients across the U.S.

Josh often spoke about how becoming part of the ALS community changed his life. What Josh did not realize was how his selflessness, caring and compassion touched the lives of this community. Josh gave so much of himself to help others and, true to his personality, never asked for anything in return.Josh was not only a part of HARK he was part of our family. He grew up with my children and was always there to support my father as he went through his ALS journey. Josh said how much he admired my father’s courage in dealing with the ALS obstacles he faced every day but always pushed through them with a smile. I admired that same courage in Josh and will be forever grateful to him for how much he did for HARK.
