3rd Annual Octoberfest 5K

October shines a spotlight on vision awareness and care. According to the World Health Organization (WHO), more than 314 million people in the world have a severe visual impairment. 
Surprisingly, 80% of blindness is preventable. 
The mission of the Haddonfield Lions Club and Lions Club International is to serve. We contribute to sight-preservation initiatives including vision screenings. Early intervention can prevent loss of sight or slow disease progression.

Come join us for awards and an after-race party at King's Road Brewing Company! The brewery will close for a short period of time to clean before they reopen at 12:00 p.m. No alcohol will be served until the brewery reopens. The Award Ceremony will be from 10:30 a.m. - 11:00 a.m. Refreshments(including Bagels, Fruit, and Water) will be available from 9:30 a.m. - 11:30 a.m.

The Brewery and the adjacent Tasting Room in Haddonfield are located at 131 Kings Highway East, right in the center of Downtown Haddonfield. There is street parking available, municipal parking lots all around us, and we are just two short blocks from the PATCO High Speedline.

Race start is located in the field just below the baseball diamond outfield. Runners will run across field toward the parking lot, turning left after the parking lot to reach the macadam path on Park Blvd. Runners turn left onto Park Blvd. path and continue to Grove St. following the path as it veers downhill toward the water. Runners will bear left, picking up the packed dirt running trail through the woods, passing behind Erlton Swim Club and the Cherry Hill Parks Department building. Shortly after passing the starting line, runners will turn right, leaving the dirt trail, to cross the concrete bridge. After crossing the bridge, runners will bear left to pick up the dirt running trail through the woods (heading toward Kings Highway). As runners see Kings Highway above, they turn left to cross a second concrete bridge,
and follow the running trail back heading toward the parking lot. Runners follow the dirt trail until they reach the end of the metal guard rail, and make a sharp right turn up the hill to take them back to the macadam path on Park Blvd. Runners turn left on the macadam path and head toward the baseball diamond, running behind the baseball backstop, crossing the grass field past the race start line, and then picking up the dirt trail, bearing left on the trail toward the finish line.

If you have a friend or family member accompanying you to this event, please ask them if they would help while waiting for you to finish.

If available they will receive a souvenir T-shirt, post-race food and refreshments, and sincere thanks from the staff and competitors.
