PTC New Year's Day 2025 5K

HAPPY NEW YEAR!  

To start 2025, Peninsula Track Club and York High School Cross Country/Track & Field present the New Year's Day 2025 5K - Runner & Walker category available. The course is run through the scenic Newport News Park and is considered fast and nearly flat. Runners, walkers, and strollers are welcome. There will be course Judges to verify walkers. York High School Cross-country / Track & Field will be the event coordinator and volunteers. Proceeds will assist with YHS XC/TF equipment, uniforms, and expenses associated with their events. There are no runsignup fees before race day. Race Day sign-up will have runsignup fees.

T-shirt: The deadline to guarantee a shirt is December 5. After this, t-shirts will be limited and not guaranteed.

January 1, 2025:

9:15 - 10:15 am BIB pick up at Newport News Park, picnic shelters 19 & 20, across the street from the Ranger's Station

10:30 RACE START: On Constitution Way in front of the Ranger's Station headed toward Jefferson Ave.

~11:15 am AWARDS. Award for the top three male and female finishers. The top 3 Males and Females in age groups (19 & Under, 20 to 29, 30 to 39, 40 to 49, 50 to 59, 60 to 69, 70 to 79 and 80+ will receive awards! The top 3 Walkers, Male and Female, will also receive awards.

ONLINE REGISTRATION WILL CLOSE AT NOON ON DECEMBER 30, 2024.  
RACE DAY REGISTRATION WILL OPEN AT 9:15 am on January 1, 2025. Registration is $50 cash or $50 if paid via RunSignUp (fee) on race day. See Thomas Tate for race day sign-up at BIB pick-up.
