5K Run

8:00AM EDT

Due to the unexpected COVID-19 statewide ban of gatherings of 10 or more, our race was cancelled for this year, 2020.

Thanks so much for registering for the Super Leader 5K. Due to the unexpected COVID-19 statewide ban of gatherings of 10 or more, our race was cancelled for this year, 2020.

However, Old Fort Elementary School would like to honor your registration for next year's race including your t-shirts, if you ordered one. We will simply carry over your registration until then. We have a no refund policy, but we felt this would be the most fair option with the unexpected mandate.

We truly appreciate your support and hope to see you next year at OFE. In 2021, we will be in our new school building, and we think our 5th Super Leader 5K will be the best one yet. Again, thank you for your support! Stay safe and we hope to see you next year!

About the Leader in Me initiative

Old Fort School has been making great strides in efforts to create an environment that empowers the leadership qualities within us all. We have adopted Stephen Covey’s “Seven Habits” of leadership, and have been implementing the approach with our faculty, staff, and students. As part of these collective efforts, we are joining with local artists to create murals throughout our school that will inspire students and the community for years to come. One mural in particular, is in the front entrance of the school’s hallway. It features a mountain landscape as well as the faces of  leaders from our nation’s history. It’s a constant reminder to our students and staff that we can achieve our dreams and follow in the footsteps of these leaders who have accomplished so much.

As we embark in a New Year in 2019, Old Fort School is requesting your financial support or in-kind donations in helping us complete projects with our leadership theme including hosting our first ever Super Leader 5K Run/Walk for students and families in our community. Your contributions will help make this event possible, as well as support special learning opportunities such as leader luncheons, awards, and other student led initiatives. This support would also include School Improvement Team approved steps to enhance our leadership endeavors within our school. If you feel inclined, please consider contributing to these efforts.

From the courageous words of Helen Keller, “Alone we can do so little, together we can do so much.” Thank you in advance for your consideration in supporting these community projects. Please make any checks out to Old Fort School with the memo: Leader in Me/5k. Again, many thanks for your support!
