Everyone receives a teddy bear when they cross the finish line.
More Young Winners!!! Prizes for the fastest boys and girls in 6 age groups under age 19 in the 5K: (6-8; 9-10; 11-12; 13-14; 15-16; 17-18) 12 and under must run with a grown up. Prizes for 7 age groups for grown-ups (19-29; 30-39; 40-59; 50-59; 60-69; 70-79; 80 and older); plus a 5K Stroller Division, fastest mom and fastest dad.
Check In behind the Falls Church-McLean Children's Center, 7230 Idylwood Road, Falls Church, and enjoy fair activities until the races. 5K runners climb the alphabet stairs to Pimmit Hills Drive and walk 1 block to Pimmit Hills Park .
5K at 4 pm: Start at Pimmit Hills Park, 1840 Olney Road, the first of 3 parks on the course that returns to Pimmit Hills Park. Prizes awarded at the fair site. Runners under 12 years must be accompanied by a registered adult.
1K at 4:15: Starts at the Children's Center playground field and continues on a flat, shaded path at the foot of the field. All children under 12 must be accompanied by a registered adult.
Proceeds support the nonprofit Falls Church-McLean Children's Center, a high-quality preschool serving children from low-income, working families since 1968.
Packet Pick-Up
11 a.m. to 3 p.m., Saturday, Sept. 24 at Road Runner Sports, 1120 W. Broad St., between Staples and Giant, Falls Church. Bring print out of registration. $10 off purchases of $30 or more during packet pick up.
Place
5K - Runners check in at Falls Church-McLean Children's Center, follow signs to Pimmit Hills Park, the start and finish point. Left onto Griffith, Right onto Leonard, thru Pimmit View,
right onto Hillside, Left onto Friden thru Olney Park one block to turnaround and back.
1K Course
Check In Starts at 2 pm when the Fun Fair opens on the playground field behind the Falls Church-McLean Children's Center, 7230 Idylwood Road, Falls Church, VA 22043. Take part in kids games, balloons, face painting and puppet shows, then limber up before the races at 4:15 pm.
1K: On a flat, shaded path starting at the Children's Center. Note: All children under 12 years must run with a registered adult.
5K Course
Check in when Fun Fair opens at 2 pm at the Falls Church-McLean Children's Center playground and field, 7230 Idylwood Road, Falls Church, VA 22043. Enjoy games and more before heading to Pimmit Hills Park, the start and finish point. Climb the Alphabet Stairs and cross Pimmit Drive Run; walk 1 block on Paxton to the entrance to Pimmmit Hills Park on Olney. Run starts at 4 pm.
5K: Start at Pimmit Hills Park, 1840 Olney Road. Run thru Pimmit Hills neighborhood, thru Olney Park and back to the starting point at Pimmit Hills Park. All runners receive a teddy bear as they cross the finish line! Great refreshments and Runner Prizes await runners at the Children's Center. You must be present to receive prizes.
