Building Equal Bridges - The Tyler Gerth Memorial 5K

On June 26, 2021, Building Equal Bridges is hosting our inaugural Tyler Gerth Memorial 5K Fundraiser. This 5K is held on the anniversary of Tyler's untimely, tragic death. We want to honor Tyler and continue on the work that needs to be done. This event will be held at the Big Four Bridge Waterfront Lawn, as both a celebration of life for Tyler, as well as a kickoff for The Building Equal Bridges Foundation. We welcome you to come out and be apart of Tyler’s commemoration in support of the movement moving forward towards positive change. 

Your registration include a beautiful scenic route along the waterfront and river rd., a swag bag including race t-shirt, high quality "be excellent to each other" sticker, and other products and swag from our awesome donors. Racers will receive individually wrapped post race food and water bag. We will be having door prizes during our celebration of life following the race. Your registration and donations go directly to Building Equal Bridges 501c3 supplying scholarships, education, and community development. 

Event itinerary includes:

8:40 welcome and opening remarks 

9:00 Race begins!

10-12:30 Celebration of life for Tyler: Food and drink vendors available for purchase, music, photo backdrop, door prizes, and open booths to learn more about the works of Building Equal Bridges, Big Brother Big Sister and Louisville Urban League.
