VPCC Community Day 5K

Virginia Peninsula is hosting its 2nd Annual Community Day 5K!

Join us for a fun-filled day connecting with our community, students, and alumni for our 2nd annual Community Day 5K! 

The event will take place at the beautiful Matteson Trail. A three-mile nature and fitness trail that encircles The Hampton's Golf Course, named in honor of Ms. Tess Matteson who was instrumental in its development and establishing a VPCC scholarship in 2010 to benefit Virginia Peninsula Community College nursing students.

We will have family-friendly activities, a photo booth, music, refreshments for participants, contest giveaways, and prizes. So grab your best running shoes and bring a friend!

Participants who register by October 7 will receive a commemorative 5K t-shirt.

All participants will receive a participation medal.

Proceeds from the event will help Virginia Peninsula Community College continue to meet its most pressing needs, including student emergencies, research, technology upgrades, student retention, and enrollment initiatives, athletics, and growing academic programs.

Walk, run, and have some fun while positively impacting our students 

and making a meaningful difference in our community.

Race Day Schedule 

7:30 AM - Race day packet pickup/registration (credit/debit card or check only please)
8:45 AM - Opening Ceremony
9:00 AM - 5K Race (3.1 miles)
10:30 AM - Award Ceremony

Enjoy the festivities and visit with our vendors until 12 noon.

Awards

All participants will receive a commemorative participation medal.

Top 3 Overall Male & Female

Top Male & Female in the following age groups:

19&under, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, 70& up

The race is a measured course. Easy parking available. Refreshments served after the race.
