Description
Thank you so much to all the participants, volunteers, and the Spa Pacers timing service for making this race a success! Timing results can be found on The Hot Springs Family YMCA's Facebook page.
The Superhero 2-Mile Walk/Run is back! This is a fun (costumes-encouraged but optional) race, fostering the participation of all ages and fitness levels. The superhero theme is intended to generate enthusiasm and drive home the idea that everyone is a superhero to someone else while modeling healthy behaviors. The chief focus is on promoting active living, especially in establishing a healthy lifestyle in youth. As this YMCA initiative also benefits the Reach & Rise mentoring program, there is an additional focus on how adults can be superheroes to future superheroes.
All ages are welcome to participate, but be aware that the trail is not stroller-friendly. Adults must be responsible for ensuring minors successfully complete or exit the racecourse. First aid is available, and volunteers will be stationed at various points on the course to help. Also, dogs on leashes are welcome for this event. Make sure you clean up after them. Following the race, YMCA Healthy Kids Day information and activities will be on-site, so stay for the awards ceremony and festivities.
COSTUMES ARE ENCOURAGED! The race is timed, and prizes are offered for:
3 deep in Overall Male and Female
3 deep for Male and Female in Age Groups:

Race Route
The route is part asphalt and part natural surfaces. There is plenty of shade with one water station at about the halfway mark. Since this is largely on trails, be sure to watch for roots and rocks. The YMCA is not responsible for any injuries on the course, and all participants (paid or free) must sign a waiver. Registrations are non-refundable, even in the case of inclement weather that necessitates the canceling of the event. Unless the weather conditions are hazardous, the race will be held rain or shine.
