ReMix Ideas in Action:
1. Deployed Business Ownership Strategy to Reduce Racial Wealth Gap: Deploying business ownership as an economic strategy to reduce the racial wealth gap. To date, ReMix Ideas has served many entrepreneurs, with 50+ businesses started, 150+ businesses strengthened, and 7 pitch competitions.
2. Launched ReMix Ideas Business Academy [RIBA]: RIBA is a 12-week, custom-designed program that teaches entrepreneurs the skills required to create, scale, and sustain a successful business enterprise.
3. Strengthened Library as an Entrepreneurship Hub: The Rock It! Lab, a partnership of the library system and ReMix Ideas, is a learning and start-up hub designed to promote entrepreneurship, particularly in under-resourced communities. Located at CALS Main Library in downtown Little Rock, the mission of Rock It Lab! is to inspire, educate and connect under-resourced entrepreneurs through no-cost, co-working space, technical assistance, workshops, programs, events, and one-on-one consulting.
4. Launched Shop Black Live (SBL): In June 2020, ReMix Ideas launched Shop Black Live (SBL), a weekly show and online marketplace showcasing and selling Black-owned products. http://www.shopblacklive.com
5. Power of Many Grant – Awarding Micro-Grants and Providing Technical Assistance: In partnership with friends of ReMix Ideas, we launched the Power of Many Grant for Black entrepreneurs, which we award each month, $1,000 to Black entrepreneurs. Twelve (12) recipients will be awarded per year.
6. Launched Little Rock Night Market: In 2018, ReMix Ideas launched Little Rock Night Market, a family-friendlyevent that provides a platform for startups, artists, and entrepreneurs to showcase and test their ideas/products while strengthening the local economy by creating a space for shoppers to buy local.
7, Launched Freedom Project: The Freedom Project uses entrepreneurship as a re-entry strategy by equipping African Americans who have been formerly incarcerated with tools and resources required to start and run successful businesses.
8, Launched Black Founders Summit: In 2020, ReMix Ideas launched Black Founders Summit, a platform to help Black business owners survive the current uncertain economic and build pathways to thrive as they move into the future.
