OUR STORY

We are Runners and Race Directors too.

Which is why we wanted to make a better platform for organizing races.

As a Race Director frustrated by existing online registration platforms, RunSignup founder Bob Bickel set out to build a better one in 2009. RunSignup gained wings in 2010, and has grown and evolved, continuing to find solutions to the problems created by traditional registration platforms.

We are a company built around tech professionals, and we seek to use advanced technology to make races simple. We're focused on easy, accessible technology for both runners and race directors, all at low cost, and with no advertising or spam.

Our business model is also pretty simple. Build a team with a few really smart developers, a few people who love helping customers that LOVE running, leverage Cloud technology, create a service that is self-service, and form partnerships through the running community. This simple formula keeps our costs low, makes us efficient, and keeps our heart in the right place... focused on running!

Our Philosophy is simple.

Have fun with technology and make it easy for the running community to use.

We are runners who want to help the endurance community: runners, triathletes, race directors, club directors, timing services, coaches, and running store owners.

We believe that the running community is thousands of micro communities coming together and there should be no "central" site for all information on running. Instead we want to highlight and help the thousands of amazing events being run by local, real runners from running stores, 5K fundraisers, and running clubs. We want to make it easy for races, clubs, and timing services to make things easy for their runners. We want local sponsors to get credit for supporting races.

At the same time, we want to have fun with technology and create technological solutions that are accessible for the running community. We're always perfecting and refining the "basics" but we're also working on a lot of "fun" things technology can do: for example, customizations to allow graphical reporting for T-shirt sizes ordered, or free race result notifications.

We believe we have a responsibility to the Race Directors who choose us, the Race Timers who partner with us, and the athletes who use us. We are dedicated to protecting your information, and refuse to accept advertising and spam.

How Secure is Your Race Website?

I was talking with someone today about whether races feel an obligation to keep their customer data safe. The conversation was triggered when I was talking to a small registration company owner and found they had many security vulnerabilities like their site being susceptible to SQL Injection, Cross Site Scripting, and lack of a security... Big Showing of Timers in Dallas, Texas!

We are at our second location of our four-city RaceDay Certification Timer Tour. Last week in Philadelphia went very well and we made some minor tweaks to the certification process based on our experience there. Timers are using the new and easy-to-use RaceDay CheckIn app to check in for the certification training. We emailed out QR... Continue Reading →

What Our Customers Say:

“I’ve never had an issue with RunSignUp. I can’t think of a time someone showed up and we didn’t have their data, and I’ve never been worried about ‘when can I download’. Functionality is everything to me.”
