Description
The Ashburn Area Running Club (AARC) is a non-profit running club for the greater Ashburn area, sanctioned and insured by the Road Runners Club of America (RRCA).
Our goal is to offer programs and scheduled group runs for all types and levels of runners in the area. We welcome beginners and experienced runners. Our training runs form pace groups typically ranging from 7 to 11 minutes per mile. We hope that you will join the club and not only support its events and participate in its programs, but find an area that interests you (membership, social events, races, etc.) and get involved. Some of you may already belong to an existing running or triathlon club, and we’d love to have you join this club as well.
AARC has been named the Best Running Club in the Mid-Atlantic Region, by the readers of competitor Magazine in the past. In addition, AARC founded the Loudoun Half & 8k and has donated over $100,000 to local Loudoun County Public School’s track and field & cross country teams since its inception.
Whether you’re local to Ashburn, Leesburg, Sterling, or in the wider vicinity, all are welcome!
Check out and join us on one of our scheduled runs listed on our website. We have at least one and sometimes two runs scheduled on 5 days of the week, and many of our members get together and run together on their own in smaller groups whenever it fits their schedules. So, come out and give us a trial run. We hope to see you out there!
Membership Levels
2024 RENEWAL (current member renewal)
AARC individual membership is $30 for 2024, January 1st, 2024-December 31st, 2024.
Your membership offers you the following benefits:
- 10% discount at Potomac River Running stores with AARC membership card
- “Hallmark” holiday social events/runs
- Hydration support during peak training months throughout the summer
- Weekly track speed workouts at track facility (when available)
- 6+ scheduled run times Sunday – Saturday with a run leader
- Special events to include: End of the Year Party, Post Run Breakfasts, etc.
- Private Facebook group with access to AARC members as a resource for training and every day running motivation
- Eligible to win random prizes throughout the year to include AARC swag
- Discounts on local races as discounts become available
- Fall marathon destination race training program and support
- And so much MORE!
The club's annual dues go towards our insurance, hydration during summer months for long runs and Social Events.
Please Note: children under the age of 18 must be accompanied by a participating member adult and remain with adult at all times while running at any official AARC run time.
