Selma to Montgomery 51 Mile Relay

Registration Tips:

1. Review the Race Information Packet.
2. Designate a Team Captain.
3. Create a team name and password.
4. Register the team. (This is the responsibility of the Team Captain. *The Team Captain must complete registration and payment before team members can join.)
5. Team members join the team. (Must have team password.)
6. Check Run Sign Up and the Selma to Montgomery website for updates and announcements.

In order to volunteer for this special event, you must follow all safety guidelines and agree to the online waiver.  Please read the volunteer guidelines below:

Volunteers must be at least 16 years old.  Volunteers younger than 18 must have permission from a parent or guardian.
Volunteers must sign up for a duty.  Shifts are on a first come basis.  
Volunteers must provide their own transportation to and from the designated area.  
Volunteers must wear official volunteer attire during their shift.
Volunteers must be physically able to perform assigned volunteer duties.
Volunteers must be willing to fulfill their entire shift at their assigned location.
Volunteers must sign the online waiver.

The Virtual Relay and Bike Ride will give runners/walkers and cyclists who cannot make it to the event for whatever reason the opportunity to participate.  Cyclists can complete the 51 miles at their convenience.  Runners/Walkers can choose the leg/mileage they would like to run.  Runners/Walkers may also choose to complete the entire 51 miles.  

All virtual participants will have until April 30, 2024 to complete the race and submit their results for the event. Completion times and mileage can be tracked and uploaded using the virtual tracker in Run Sign Up.  This virtual tracker can be accessed by logging in to your Run Sign Up account and clicking on your profile in the upper right corner. 

Race goodie bags will be mailed out the week of March 10, 2024.  The cost of the Virtual Relay and Bike Ride is $60 until Sunday, November 12, 2023.  Late registration begins on Monday, November 13, 2023.  The price will increase to $70. *Please note that the cutoff date for partner medals is November 12, 2023 and the cutoff date for tshirts is February 4, 2024.

The Civil Rights Race Series and the family of Aurelia Twitty are proud to announce the Aurelia Twitty "Spirit of Champions" Award.  This annual award will be presented to an individual in recognition of their respective compassion to health and wellness, to include their service and contributions to the community.  The individual selected will receive a plaque and a monetary award in Aurelia's name.

Aurelia Twitty "Spirit of Champions" Award Guidelines:
*All candidates must be nominated by a team captain or riding partner.  There is only one candidate eligible per registered team or per cyclists group.
*Single ultra runners will be allowed to nominate themselves.
*All candidates must be registered for the 2024 event.
*The form must be completed and submitted no later than Monday, February 13th, 2023.
*The winning candidate will receive a $200 cash prize and a plaque in honor of Aurelia Twitty.
