The Mission of LEG, Life-Skills Empowerment Group, is extremely simple – educating students with important life skills, empowering them to become successful and well-rounded young adults. Over the past 70 years, due to various details, many courses that enrich and aid in preparing students for life, have become non-essential and removed from middle and high schools. Topics such as Home Economics, Auto Shop, Wood Shop, and Cooking (to name a few) began falling outside of the course descriptions offered in order to prepare for standardized testing and college prep. Along with increasing technology, and a narrowed focus on computer programming and coding, these important topics and skills became endangered - if not extinct. The term "Adulting" became something to attain, in place of the building blocks a student should acquire before leaving high school.
Our program provides these important topics and skills once again. With an emphasis on interaction and entertainment, our online classes help students understand the material while having fun. Our current topics include Auto Maintenance, Cooking, Home Maintenance, Personal Finance, Professional Etiquette, and Time Management and Organization.
