Story

Welcome to My 2021 Sharon's Ride.Run.Walk. San Diego Fundraising Page in honor of Jake Anaya!

Lord Jake Anaya (made a lord through a Christmas gift!) has been dealing with uncontrolled seizures his entire life. This last year I was blessed to be his support for school so I spent a lot more time with him than usual.  I also got to participate in the Adult Epilepsy Support Group calls on zoom with him. The support, especially during the pandemic, was an absolute necessity. I saw how much it mattered first hand.  The virtual support group is only a small fraction of what the Epilepsy Foundation of San Diego County offers.

People with epilepsy can already feel isolated. They are also an "at risk" group with the pandemic. Covid 19 has caused a lot of mayhem!  This foundation and the people it serves have been hit particularly hard.  I read a meme saying  "We are not all in the same boat. We are in the same storm".  That's why I am fundraising again this year.  Not just in honor of Jake, but for all of those who don't have the support and resources he does but who need them desperately.  Please consider donating to my special cause today.  Any amount is truly appreciated.

Sharon's Ride.Run.Walk San Diego is a 15-mile Bike Ride or 5K Run/Walk that is very important to me. I am raising money to help The Epilepsy Foundation of San Diego County so they can provide wraparound support services and programs at no cost to individuals and families affected by epilepsy. Please help me support this cause and spread awareness for epilepsy.
