UP started operating 3 days a week from 9 to 1 as a drop in center that offered comprehensive services. A daytime safe space, a place to shower and do laundry, access to a restroom, phone, computer, mailing address, and case manager; who serves as an advocate to help guests navigate through a crisis and obtain vital documents like an ID or birth certificate and access community resources. By Uniting Partners with additional agencies like Family Health Centers and Legal Aid, we provide medical, mental health, and legal services every week to our guests. By working with other community agencies, UP increases access, coordination, and accountability of services to those we serve. In its first year of operation, UP helped end homelessness for 139 women and children.
