Northeast DuPage Family and Youth Services (NEDFYS) provides low cost, high quality, community-based social services to residents of DuPage County. NEDFYS’ highly skilled clinicians work with 14 local police departments to provide 24/7 crisis intervention services to youth ages 11-17 who have run away from home or are experiencing personal or family conflict preventing them from returning home. NEDFYS provides approximately 3,000 hours of crisis intervention services each year. NEDFYS also delivers all social services for the Addison, Bensenville, and Itasca police departments, serving over 200 residents of these communities annually. Since 2010, NEDFYS has served hundreds of youth on probation in DuPage County, facilitating group interventions focused on reducing family conflict and chronic stress in order to prevent future crime. NEDFYS also specializes in working with high-risk youth in care, providing trauma-focused interventions to boys and girls in the custody of the Illinois Department of Children and Family Services and in alternative educational settings.
