Friendship Circle's mission statement is to create friendship in the lives of individuals with special needs and those facing isolation while providing opportunities to become contributing members of the community.
The Daniel B. Sobel Friendship House is a division of Friendship Circle that provides support and guidance to individuals and families struggling with isolation, addiction, and other life crises through a welcoming community that facilitates lasting success. Friendship House provides support to program participants in four different weekly recovery meetings including Alcoholics Anonymous, Overeaters Anonymous, Jewish Recovery Meetings, and Al-Anon. In addition, more than 300 people attend recovery dinners, barbecues, retreats, and social events throughout the year. Friendship House staff and volunteers also deliver more than 500 care packages annually to individuals isolated in their homes, at hospitals, or in recovery centers.
