Elected in 2018, Pamela Boozer-Strother is the representative for Prince George’s County Board of Education, District 3.
Ms. Boozer-Strother was born in Prince George’s County and returned 13 years ago as a resident of Brentwood in District 3. At that time, she became an active leader of community organizations and town committees focused on children, education and economic development. In 2018, she was recognized for her years of community service with the Mighty Joe Impact Award from Joe's Movement Emporium.
Ms. Boozer-Strother is parent of a 3rd grader at Mount Rainier Elementary and a dedicated activist who is determined to put children first as the District 3 representative on the Prince George’s County Board of Education. For three (3) years, she served as the Treasurer of the Parent-Teacher Organization (PTO) and chaired fundraising efforts for in-school arts programs, after school programs and teacher appreciation.
She is a big proponent of the Board of Education Community Schools Policy (adopted 2018) that will bring expanded health care and social services to our students and families in partnership with government, business, nonprofit and faith based organizations. She sees this as a critical opportunity to move our school system forward and will be a leader of this work by serving on the School, Family and Community Engagement Committee.
A believer that arts are essential in education and community, Ms. Boozer-Strother served as a Board Member and President of the Gateway Community Development Corporation (Gateway CDC) from 2007-2009 which has driven the arts-centered economic revitalization of the Route 1 corridor.
She has experience with building planning, budgeting and construction through the oversight of the Gateway Arts Center, critical skills she brings to the PGCPS Capital Improvement Program. In her Gateway CDC leadership role and PTA Treasurer role, she has worked successfully with elected officials at the municipal, county and state level to bring resources to the children of Prince George’s County.
Ms. Boozer-Strother earned her MBA from the Kogod School of Business at American University while serving as the executive director of national association. She is a Certified Association Executive (CAE) and founded a business in 2011 focused on association convention and events sponsorship fundraising.
