Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital is a 295-bed acute care facility, providing healthcare services for an 11-county service area in south central Kentucky.

A modern, state-of-the-art facility, the hospital offers cardiac care and an advanced neurosurgery program with Spine Center accreditation.

The hospital also has a complete clinical laboratory, 24-hour ER, intensive care units, surgical services (including orthopedic and urological), and diagnostic imaging. Other specialty services include women’s and children’s services, a Level II neonatal nursery, cardiopulmonary services, behavioral health unit, and inpatient rehabilitation.

Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital (LCRH) employs a staff of more than 1,200 health care professionals and support personnel and has more than 170 physicians representing 38 medical specialties on our medical staff.

In addition to numerous physician practices, LCRH has eight stand-alone outpatient facilities for bariatric medicine, cancer treatment, imaging, surgery, wound care, sleep disorders and therapy services.

Our goal is to be the healthcare leader in our area, providing excellent care with kindness and compassion.  Our mission of Making Communities Healthier® continually reinforces that important goal.  When you are a patient here, you are family.

Established in 1976, Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital has grown from a 175-bed facility to its current 295 beds.  As the largest private employer in the region, LCRH takes its position in the community seriously and strives to be a good corporate citizen.

We partner with local and national charitable organizations to raise funds to enhance lives and work toward finding cures for various diseases and health conditions.  We work with schools, community groups, church groups, and individuals to provide important health screenings and information to help folks lead healthier lives. We sponsor a number of regional programs including: Pounds Off Pulaski weight-loss program, Dine with the Docs (monthly programs for community members to learn more about health conditions, diseases, and/or new services), Wear Red Day, Colorectal Cancer 5K, Senior Health & Fitness Day, and the annual Breast Cancer Symposium, which involve hundreds of community members.

Other unique services we provide to our region include an active Senior Friends chapter with nearly 4,000 members and a hospital auxiliary with more than 100 volunteers.  Proceeds from the auxiliary gift shop provide scholarships for allied health career students at Somerset Community College. The Health Ministries program coordinates such services as: volunteer chaplains, an active Health Career Explorer chapter (BSA Learning for Life Post) and Safe Sitter classes.

In 2014, Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital will begin welcoming Internal Medicine Residents to the hospital for their three-year residency training.  This new Residency Program will expand to include Family Practice Residents in 2015, and will result in 36 physician residents and their families living in our community each year, while they work and learn alongside our medical staff at Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital and Lake Cumberland Medical Associates (LCMA).

Because we are dedicated to providing quality healthcare, Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital voluntarily undergoes multiple accreditation surveys to help us maximize our potential.  We have received the Gold Seal of Approval® from The Joint Commission. Additionally, our cancer program is certified by the Commission on Cancer, our stroke program was awarded the Advanced Certification for Primary Stroke Center from The Joint Commission, we have been recognized by the Society of Cardiovascular Patient Care as an Accredited Chest Pain Center, and our neurosurgery program has been recognized as an Accredited Spine Center by The Joint Commission.
