A camper's last night at Camp Shady Brook is special.
At the close of each week, all campers gather to reflect on their experiences. The friends made, the triumphs, the challenges and growth, all that they have learned. This reflection culminates in the candle lighting ceremony, which has a clear message:
A candle can light a thousand others without diminishing its own light. And Camp Shady Brook campers are called to share their light with the others and the world by living our core values of caring, honesty, respect and responsibility.
This is just one small example of what makes Camp Shady Brook so special.
