I’ve completed my run, now what??

            Tracking Your Activity

How do I track and report my activity?
You should track your run using any GPS-enabled tracking systems (e.g., Strava, Map My Run, Garmin, Wahoo, Apple Watch, FitBit, etc.). From there you will self-report the time and distance of your run based on your GPS tracking, which will update the leaderboard and move your team’s dot across the course map. It is important that both the distance and time is tracked so we can ensure everyone completes their 5k. Entries without GPS will be permitted but are not encouraged for the sake of running validation.
Details about inputting activity results can be found at Log Activity tab.
Do I need a GPS watch/tracker, or Strava? Will I need to show my watch or device for proof of running?
Only racers finishing in the top 10 of each race discipline may be asked for verification based on GPS/tracker.
How do I keep track of my mileage?
Ideally you use a GPS watch or phone to track your workout.  Overall winners in each event will be required to show proof of time for validation of their official ranking.
What if I don’t run with a GPS?
While this is allowed, it is highly encouraged that you use a GPS device or app to track your runs. If you are in the running to be in the top 10 in your division, you should be prepared to validate your runs.
I forgot to log my activity, can I go back?
Yes, you can go back and log activity until June 4th at 11:59pm central standard time.
Do I have to complete my activity all at one time?
We also understand that many of our participants have different fitness levels. For those that need a little extra time you can also break up your distance into manageable segments.  Just make sure you add the full time when submitting your final results.

Where do the donations go?
All fundraising will go towards the award-winning Fit for Life! program and its expansion to help transplanted children get active. The expansion will see the introduction of junior ambassadors, transplant adventure camps, mentoring, education, inspiration and participation of more juniors at future World Transplant Games.
The Fit for Life! Global Initiative was launched in November 2016 to a record sell-out crowd of 62,500 people at a rugby match between Ireland and the New Zealand All Blacks at Soldier Field, Chicago.
Fit for Life! ambassadors came from all over the world, representing heart, lung, kidney, liver, pancreas and bone marrow recipients as we launched the initiative mantra of “more transplant recipients, more active, more often”. Since then this initiative has won awards and included participation in various events, congresses and research initiatives, the appointment of additional ambassadors, a global online walking challenge and the launch of  “Refit for Life – an online rehabilitation program for transplant recipients”.
The Fit for Life! initiative aims to elevate the importance of physical activity and organised sport at all levels in the long term management and well-being of transplant recipients.
The importance of a transplant recipient remaining as ‘healthy around their transplanted organ as possible’ through physical activity has been confirmed by research. Our mission is to assist recipients to rehabilitate and focus on their fitness, health and well-being, while providing essential support around exercise, mental well-being and nutrition.
With your support we can expand opportunities for our transplanted children to support them in being Fit for Life!

Can I donate instead of participating in the 5k AnyWay?
Yes!  All donations are welcome, you can even visit our 5k AnyWay store to purchase custom swag to support the event.
Are donations tax-deductible?
Do I have to fundraise?
Fundraising is optional but there are several incentives for fundraising including a reduced registration price and the opportunity to benefit the mission of the World Transplant Games Federation.
Fundraising Rewards
We are hoping to raise as much money as possible to benefit the World Transplant Games Federation. Any individual that raises $125.00 will be eligible to receive a $25.00 rebate that will give a refund back on the registration fee.

What do referrals mean?
The only thing better than the 5K AnyWay experience is sharing it with friends and family! Invite others to join you on your journey and you can earn rewards. 2 Participant Referrals = $5 Rebate Off Registration Cost, 5 Participant Referrals = $25 Rebate/Waived Registration Cost
How does it work?
All you need to do is share your unique referral link (found in your registration confirmation email)! You can email, share on social media, or text your friends the link. Remind them to use your link so you can score all the rewards!
