YWCA Cambridge is one of the largest providers of affordable housing for women in the area. We provide 103 units of single room occupancy housing for women and accommodations for 10 homeless families. We also offer health and wellness programming, programs that empower women and girls to live stronger and more independent lives, and racial and social justice programming. Our primary Health and Wellness program is Boston Classical Soo Bahk Do, a traditional Korean martial arts program that emphasizes “Strong Inside, Gentle Outside”. Gold and GEY are free after-school programs for middle and high school youth that focuses on leadership building and life skills development. Our racial and social justice work includes an annual Stand Against Racism, a national YWCA campaign intended to raise awareness and empower action toward eliminating racism.
