We are in the process of restoring the 100-year-old Sherburne Inn in Sherburne, NY (listed on the National Register of Historic Places) and have run up against stalls in grant funding because of COVID, both in receiving grants and getting reimbursements from grants already awarded. Our very generous corporate and individuals are also holding back, for good reason we realize but still painful for us. We would love your help!
The Sherburne Inn is at the anchor corner of our small town and is the heart of our community. The building was scheduled to be demolished and replaced with a gas station until my group (not yet formed) stepped in and stopped the demolition. Since then we have restored the exterior and, just this summer, the first floor. But we still have far to go -- the kitchen, 18 guest rooms, and an elevator addition. Our community is delighted at our progress and everyone here is eager to see the project completed. Not only are we restoring the Inn, but we are restoring our Main Street and, indeed, our entire village.
