help for new parents

Getting an autism diagnosis for our son answered a lot of questions we had. But in the early '90s there was not a lot of information available. It was an incredibly lonely and frustrating time for all of us.  The people I met through the Autism Society of Southeastern Wisconsin gave me helpful tips based on their lived experience, pointed me in the right direction, and answered my questions. Going from an overwhelmed mom to an empowered parent took a long time, and the Autism Society was an integral part of my journey.  I went from feeling helpless to being able to form a plan to move forward.  Now, I work for the Autism Society. While there are many more resources than we had 30 years ago, sadly there is still a huge need for information and support.  Please make a donation to the Autism Society of Southeastern Wisconsin to support local autistic individuals and their families.
