The Duck River Reservoir, located half way between Birmingham and Huntsville in Cullman, AL, is a brand new 640 acre lake used for drinking water and for recreation. The lake just opened to the public for fishing, and the trails around the lake are providing a place for hiking and mountain biking.
Saturday September 17, 2022 will offer 3 off-road choices to choose from, triathlon (0.5mile swim/ 18mile bike / 3.5mile run), duathlon (2mile run / 18mile bike / 3.5mile run), and paddle triathlon where the swim will be replaced with either a SUP or kayak. A PFD (personal flotation device) is required for the Paddle Tri.
Start, finish, and transition will take place at the main boat launch just off of US Highway 278. The course offers stunning scenic views of the lake and dam, has fast flowy sections as well technical sections, and is 100% off-road with no road crossings.
Come to North Central Alabama this summer and race with us, and discover this gem!
