8K Event Day Details

We can't wait to see you at tomorrow's in-person 8K! Below are important event details to review prior to tomorrow's event! 

Location: 
Bellevue State Park 
800 Carr Road
Wilmingotn, DE 19809

Health Screening:
All participants and volunteers must complete an American Lung Association Health Screening Assessment in order to participate in tomorrow's in-person race. Please click here to complete the assessment. We recommend taking a screenshot of your confirmation to show at check-in as the cell reception at the park is limited. 

Masks:
If you are not yet fully vaccinated, to ensure the safety of our immune-compromised participants and volunteers, masks are required in official event spaces when in close proximity to other attendees. If you are fully vaccinated and still would like to wear a mask, you are welcome to do so.

Park Entry:
Event check-in begins at 8AM. When you arrive at Bellevue, let the attendant know that you are with the American Lung Association event and you will not be assessed an entry fee. If you have a Delaware Park Pass please use it for park entry to help us minimize our costs and deliver more funds to our mission. 

Parking: 
You will park in the big parking lot by the stables and restrooms. Follow signage to the parking area. 

Event Check-In:
Check-in is located across from the restrooms on the running track. There will be signs directing participants and there will be volunteers available for questions. 

Race start:
Opening remarks will begin promptly at 8:30AM with the race starting directly following remarks. Please be sure to be checked in by 8:30AM to be positioned in the start area in the appropriate running corale. 

Water: 
There will be a water station located in a central location along the route. You will pass the station twice. Water will be in individual bottles and there will be trash receptacles on the course to dispose of bottles. Please do your best to use the provided trash cans to cut down on any litter in the park. 

Post-Race:
Although there will be no after-party this year, there will be pre-packaged snacks, water, Gatorade, and beer provided in the snack tent. 

Awards:
Awards will be set up on a table near the snack tent. Please allow time for results to be updated prior to retrieving your award. Awards will be ready for pickup at 9:45. 

Swag: 
You will receive a 2021 race T-shirt at check-in. Sizes can not be exchanged until the race finishes to ensure that all runners receive the size they've requested. All finishers will receive a finisher's medal. 

Fundraising incentives: 
If you have raised or donated $35 or more you will receive a 2021 commemorative Trucker's Hat. 

If you have raised or donated $150 or more you will receive a 2021 commemorative Quarter Zip. 

If you would like to receive either incentive, you may make a donation on-site at the event via cash, Credit Card, or check made payable to the American Lung Association. You may also make your donation online through Runsignup prior to tomorrow morning. 

Basket of Cheer Raffle:
We will have a basket of cheer available to win. You may purchase chances on-site - $5 per chance or 5 chances for $20. If you would prefer to pre-purchase your chances you may do so in our store. Pre-purchased chances will be entered into the drawing with tickets with your name on the back. 

The winner will be announced during opening remarks so you must purchase your tickets before 8:30. The winner must be able to bring the basket with them when they leave - baskets of cheer can not be shipped.
