After some feedback and a lot of deliberating, we have decided to host a self-supported, chip-timed Hero Half Marathon on its original date of Sunday, October 25.
On race day we will have our start line set up starting at 6 a.m. at Lokomotion at Lake Fayetteville and our finish line set up at the Walton Arts Center parking lot on Dickson Street until 6 p.m. You will sign up for a time slot and come run the race at your own pace! The number of and duration between time slots will differ depending upon how many people sign up, so we will update everyone on this when the time gets closer. Your bib is your chip and JAYMAX Race Timing Services will be out there to time you.
Due to COVID-19 precautions, this course will be completely open. No intersections will be shut down so please use caution, and there will be NO aid stations on the course. Please come prepared to self-support yourself for hydration and nutrition. Also, we will NOT be offering a shuttle to the start line so please make preparations for this on your own.
Relay participants: This year’s “relay” will be a quarter marathon (6.55 miles) you get to run with your partner! So this also means we are adding a quarter marathon!
Our goal is to offer something as close to the Hero Half Marathon experience you’ve been hoping for, but we must make some tough decisions and alterations to make sure our runners and volunteers are safe. Of course if you do not feel comfortable with this solution, you will still have the option to get your packet, shirt, and medal, and run the race from your home.
If you run a virtual race, you will not have a bib or chip. You must download and track your run on the RaceJoy app. Runners who race in person Oct. 25 may also use RaceJoy, but the app provides a GPS-estimated time. Official times will be based off the chips in your bib. All race results (live and virtual) will be displayed together; however, only in-person runners will be eligible for awards.
Packet pickup times/dates are TBD. If you live outside Northwest Arkansas, we'll work with you to mail your packet.

We will have some extra shirts available on race, but please register before September 8, 2020, to ensure your t-shirt in your desired size.
