The Everyone Runs November 14 Tucson Medical Center Veterans Day Half Marathon and 5k is unquestionably Tucson’s premier and most beautiful course running  in the majestic Tucson Mountain Park!

You’ll want to make this Fall half marathon your goal race for the season and plan it as a part of your training, as the course will be challenging for sure.  With the beauty of this area, and hardly a building or home in-site, plus excellent roads, this race is the one you’ll want to run.

Your half marathon will start at Old Tucson and the course will travel north on Kinney Rd, passing the Desert Museum and then heading west to your turnaround at Sandario Rd.  On your return, you will run about 3-miles and then head southeast on McCain Loop Rd. where the magnificent cactus and tree lined Tucson Mountain Park will open-up to you in full glory!  At the end of McCain Loop, you will head back on Kinney Rd to your finish at Old Tucson.

Yes, as you will see in our map, this course features many hills and steady grades, but that means there are fast downhills, too!  HALF MARATHON MAP: http://www.mapmyrun.com/routes/view/1456090306  5K MAP: http://www.mapmyrun.com/routes/view/1456090306

The half marathon will only be open to runners and run & walkers. Mandatory time limit is 3:30.  Walkers will be accepted in the 5k, but not the half.  The 5k course will be just as beautiful and is a simple out & back on Kinney Rd.

Medals only for all half marathon participants

5-year age group awards in the half and 5k.

Half marathon course support through 10:45 a.m. (3:30 time limit).

A part of proceeds from this event will benefit local veteran community groups.

If you are a veteran or active duty, please email everyoneruns@comcast.net for your half marathon only discount code.

Your time starts and finishes when you cross the start/finish line. Replacement bibs are $5.  Your final time and all awards will be based on the chip time.  Overall 1st, 2nd and 3rd place for the half and 5k will be determined by gun time, which is the official time per USATF rules.

Overall male and female winners will be removed from age group awards.

Bag Drop: for security reasons, we will not have a bag drop area.  No need to worry, as your parking is right near the start/finish.

Your course:  so that none of you lose your way on our course, here’s the very simple low-down on where you’re headed (map is posted on everyoneruns.net front page):

The half and 5k start and finish at the Old Tucson main parking lot.  Our course is very simple and completely lined with orange cones for your safety and easy direction.  Just follow the cones, which you must stay within, or you will automatically be disqualified.  On Kinney Rd. and Mile Wide you will be running in the left lane (southbound for vehicles).  On McCain Loop, you will be running in the right lane (southbound for vehicles).  DO NOT RUN OR CROSS INTO THE LANE THAT IS FOR VEHICLE TRAFFIC ONLY!!!!

Half marathon: this event is for runners only and run walkers only.  NO walkers permitted.  Your course travels north on Kinney Rd, past the AZ Desert Museum (you are now on Mile Wide Rd), turns around just east of Sandario Rd, heading back to McCain Loop Rd., where you will turn right and run in the right lane.  McCain Loop ends at Kinney Rd, where you will turn right and head directly back to your finish at Old Tucson.  CUT-OFF TIME IS 10:45am (3:30 time limit)

5k: your start is the same as the half marathon and runs north on Kinney Rd. for 1.55 miles to your turnaround and then straight back to the start/finish line at Old Tucson.

BOTH courses are USA track and Field certified courses for exact measurement!

Several water Stations will be spaced  throughout the course.

The half marathon will have a “re-fueling station” at the turnaround with bananas, water, and Sport Beans, and a medic rotating in the area.
