5K Course Information

5K USATF Certified (NC18026DF), USATF Sanctioned, RRCA sanctioned, the course is predominately flat and fast. Traffic will be monitored.  There is a small uphill climb in the first half mile, then downhill to the one-mile mark.  The elevation continues to drop until about 1.5 miles and then begins a gradual ascension.  There a couple of slightly rolling hills near the 2-mile mark.  The last mile is a gradual downhill to the finish.

Splits will be given every mile. Digital Clock at the finish.

Water Stations at mile 1, 2, and at the finish.

There are 4 Strava Segments on the Beat the Heat course:

  • Start Line to Deacon Blvd (0.5 mi.)
  • Deacon Blvd to 32nd Street (0.3 mi.)
  • Reynolds Blvd to Indiana Ave (0.6 mi.)
  • Finish on 32nd Street (0.7 mi.)
