My DMD Hero is a local charity started by Chris and Trisha Andrews in response to a diagnosis they received for their two boys, Brock and Graham. After learning to cope with the diagnosis, they now work to meet Duchenne families where they are, give them hope, and meet practical needs for children with Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy.
My DMD Hero is aggressively raising funds to improve the lives of children and young adults fighting Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy. Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy (DMD) is a progressive muscle-wasting disease whereby major muscle groups lose strength over time. DMD is a rare disease that affects 1 in 3500 boys. The condition causes most boys to be in a wheelchair full-time by age 12. The life expectancy of those with DMD is only into the late teens or early 20s. There is no cure yet, but My DMD Hero is giving families hope and helping them to make the most of the life they have by providing life-changing mobility equipment.
