Atwater Run for Independence

Online Registration is NOW CLOSED but you can still register in person on Race Day between 5:45-7:15am near the Start/Finish area at Grove/Second St. in Atwater.

The Merced Running Club and Buhach Colony HS Cross Country team are proud to announce that the Atwater Run for Independence is back!  The 2 mile and 5 mile races will start at 7:30am on Sunday the 4th of July.  Packet pick up and race day registration begin at 6am and close at 7:15am near the corner of Grove/2nd St. across from the finish line archway.  NEW THIS YEAR...the Start and the Finish will be located near the registration area at Second St./Grove Ave.

Register by June 24th...t-shirt guaranteed.   LATE Registration after June 24th...t-shirt not guaranteed.

The Merced Running Club(MRC) is a proud sponsor of the Buhach Colony HS Cross Country team and through it's many events, is able to award multiple scholarships to local student/athletes. Each year, the MRC accepts applications from graduating seniors that have participated in either Cross Country, Track, or both.  If you are a returning participant in this event, we welcome you back and encourage you to bring a friend or family member and celebrate the 4th of July with hundreds of other healthy minded people. 

Help us make this a fun and safe event for everyone by following these simple rules:

1)  Please wear a mask, if you have NOT been vaccinated.  You may remove it as soon as the race starts.

2)  Help us ensure that the race will start on time by arriving early(6-7am).  Packet Pick up and Race Day Registration will close at 7:15am.  Race starts at 7:30am!
