Description
Will you run for wine? That sounds groovy! Join us for the Inaugural Grapeful Dead 5K Run & 1-Mile Wine Walk on the evening of October 18, 2014 at Leer Vineyards!
Wine tasting while running? Why not? This flat course is three laps and we think tracking those laps by tasting Leer's new wines is a fabulous idea! Not up for the three-miler? Ok, how about a 1-mile leisurely stroll around the vineyard? We'll even encourage you by dangling a wine pour every quarter mile while live bands serenade as you ponder the complexities of these new wines. Just don't forget your designated driver.
Your entry includes wine tasting on each of your three laps but if that's not enough and you need to try another varietal, you can! Wine will be available for purchase by the glass or bottle. Food trucks will be on site with various options for purchase so that you can practice food and wine pairing while recovering from your run!
But that's not all! This is a family friendly event. For kids 14 & under that don't want to run we will have a Kids Fun Zone with bounce houses and activities. Registration for the Kids Fun Zone is below. The fun will last until 9 pm.
We have something for everyone! You don't have to be a wine-drinker or a runner to enjoy this fun evening event. Check out the registration options below!
Teams and Costumes Encouraged!
Teams and costumes are highly encouraged! Grab your friends, neighbors and drinking partners and get all gussied up in your best costumes! The biggest costumed team will be rewarded! How unique can you make your team costume?
To create a team, click on the Grapeful Dead Teams tab above before registering. You can create your team and register at the same time! Pick your event then click create a new team. Choose your team name and off you go. When your friends want to join the team, they too will click the Grapeful Dead Teams tab, choose their event and click "Create or Join a team" only this time they will click on the team/group name you have provided them.

Registrations received by October 10th are guaranteed a short sleeved, gender specific cotton t-shirt at packet pickup. Registrations received October 11th and after will received a shirt on a first-come, first-served basis while supplies last.
