Dear Participants,

I regret to inform you that we have had to cancel this year’s Survivors Night Walk, which was due to be held on Saturday, April 8, 2017 at the California State Capitol - West Steps. Following consultation with the State Capitol staff, it was determined that the recent construction delays on the North Steps and Traffic Circle of the State Capitol would require other events and weddings to be relocated to the West Steps and our event being placed in the South Lawn of the State Capitol.

Due to this relocation to the South Lawn and the anticipation of Saturday's weather storm, the effect that the persistent rain would have in this location would pose a safety risk to event and race participants. We did attempt to come up with an alternative date but we were advised that this would be too impractical at such short notice.

Therefore, on behalf of our organization, I would like to apologize for the cancellation, especially to those of you who have already made travel and accommodation plans. Refunds have already been processed. Unfortunately, these were circumstances which were beyond our control, but we intend to make next year’s Survivors Night Walk event even more spectacular so I hope you can join us then.
