South Bay Children's Health Center is holding our annual Champions for Children Run/Walk virtually in 2020 out of an abundance of caution, with plans to be back on the trail in June of 2021. Our first-ever Virtual Run/Walk gives you a chance to create your own dream event at your favorite outdoor or indoor space as an individual or as part of a team. You can choose your registration level and even receive great SWAG. There is no age limit and everybody is welcome to participate in any physical activity of your choice regardless of experience. The goal is to create your personal dream event, have a great time, and help raise money for vital mental health and dental care at a time where low-income and at-risk families need our help more than ever!
Think of the benefits - you can choose your own time to participate through the end of the event on Sunday July 26th, no worries about parking or getting the family out the door at the same time! You can wear what you want - even costumes - and take pictures to post on our site!
In the last 12 weeks, our world has changed drastically as the direct result of the COVID-19 pandemic impacting each one of us in a significant way. The families we serve are suffering increased hardship with children in dental pain, youth experiencing mental health issues in addition to those they were experiencing before the pandemic. All of our staff are working 24/7 to ensure that our clients and patients get the help they need and are connected to resources for the issues they face.
In our health care environment, there are clear disparities for children and youth living in poverty and racial, ethnic, religious and gender minorities, with access to QUALITY health services often a formidable challenge. And, at a time where mental health issues for children and teens have reached an all-time high, being able to access basic mental health services through the schools is imperative and unfortunately, often cost-prohibitive for the schools. Your support of this event will make a DIRECT impact on these critical issues.
Please register today and start planning your event. We hope you will also join us as a fundraiser. You do not need to participate as a runner or walker to help fundraise. We can't wait to "see you there" between Saturday, July 18th and Sunday, July 26th. Thank you for your commitment to the health and wellness of local children!
Thank you - we can't wait to "see" you soon!!
