Luke Wyatt Morin spent 5 ½ years on this earth as a happy, kind, playful, active, and articulate little boy; a very loving child with a genuine enthusiasm for life equaled only by his empathy for others. He was always quick to offer hugs and snuggles or an unsolicited compliment or “I love you”. In addition to adoring his big sister Phebe, Luke loved playing with his Hot Wheels cars and building tracks for hours on end. He loved The Beatles and would frequently host impromptu dance parties in his room. Only the last two weeks of Luke’s time here did he suffer. Through it all, he smiled, he laughed, he trusted his family and was very brave.
After symptoms that appeared suddenly and two visits to the pediatrician, Luke was taken to Children’s Hospital Colorado. On April 8, 2018 Luke’s family received the devastating news that there was an inoperable tumor in Luke’s brain called DIPG (Diffuse Intrinsic Pontine Glioma). Only seventeen days later, Luke lost his battle with DIPG.
We MUST HAVE YOUR HELP to support Children's Hospital Colorado! Funding is needed for the special and dedicated team fighting this brutal disease to ensure future children and their families will not experience such a life altering event. Please click here to donate. 100% of your donation will be directed to Dr. Rajeev Vibhakar's Pediatric DIPG research team at Children's Hospital Colorado. This team will make a difference in the lives of children and families affected by DIPG. Their work will increase the survival rate for this horrible disease.
All our gratitude to you for your support in our mission.

Goddard Cares Fall Fest 5K is a BolderBoulder qualifying race/walk in honor of Luke Wyatt Morin. Luke attended The Goddard School for 5 years and was months away from kindergarten last year when he was stolen from this world by DIPG (Diffuse Intrinsic Pontine Glioma), an aggressive and fatal pediatric brain tumor.
There is still no effective treatment for DIPG and no chance of survival. All proceeds from this race will go to the DIPG research team at Children’s Hospital Colorado where this dedicated group are advancing treatments and cures for DIPG and need funding. With proper resources, their ground breaking work will bring hope into the lives of children and families affected by DIPG for the first time in history.
Thank you for your support!

There will be one water station on the course.
Can I run with a stroller? Yes. Please start in the back of the pack as to not impede faster runners at the start.
Does my kiddo in the stroller have to pay a registration fee? No. Athletes who pay for their registration will receive race SWAG and an official result. There is no swag for babies.
Can I get a refund if I can't run? No.
Is there a family discount? Yes. Use 'join a group/team' to add members to your family/team registration. After the 4th person joins your team, each will receive $5 off!
Is this race timed? Yes. This race is chip timed.
Can my kid run the race with a bike rather than on foot? No. If a child is too big for a stroller, but too small for running the entire 5k, consider a balance bike or a scooter. These children MUST be accompanied by an adult on the course.
Can I run with my dog? Yes; please keep your well behaved, leased dog toward the back of the pack to start and make sure it runs on YOUR right hand side as to not trip up other runners. Of course, remember to clean up after your pooch, should the need arise!
Can I transfer my registration to someone else? Yes; use the 'transfer to another runner' feature in RunSignUp when you are managing your registration.
Where and when do I pick up my bib? There is no advanced packet pick up for this event. You may pick up your bib on the morning of the race at the expo/start area.
The Fall Fest 5k features a chip timed wave start. Please corral yourself into the appropriate start wave that matches your running/walking pace. Look for signs that will line the start chute.
