YES WE ARE RUNNING IN ANY WEATHER unless it is lightning- then we will delay it till the police say OK. Please don't email unless it is an emergency in which case you should be dialing 9-1-1...We can't postpone, we can't refund, but WE CAN HAVE FUN and enjoy the food trucks, adult hydration, and over 600 friends who will realize that weather reports are wrong half the time!

Starting and ending at Penfield Beach, this summer spectacular will include food trucks featuring Colony Grill, Taco Loco, Micallizi's Italian Ice, Saugatuck Sweets & Sierra Nevada Beer for anyone 21 and over. There's even more food, activities for kids, entertainment and family fun.

Pre reg pickup and late registrations will occur Tuesday July 24 at the Sound Runner, Post Rd Fairfield from 3-7pm. Join us, pickup for others too, AND ENJOY 15% OFF EVERYTHING IN THE STORE,
Participants of the 5k event and one mile walk will receive a special shirt, a dinner ticket and goodies with their entrance fee. You can bring friends and family to watch and enjoy our beach while you are participating in one of our feature events. Non-participants can enjoy our food and beverages for a small $10 fee.
The Penfield Beach area is scenic, quiet, and surrounded by a welcoming neighborhood of supporters. There will be ample parking right nearby as well as just 3/10 mile down the road at Jennings Beach.
Our 5k event and one mile walk will start at 6:15pm giving you a full 2 hours before sunset AND another half hour of wonderful twilight! Awards OR prizes will be given to overall M&F champions and in 9 age groups (see event details). The 5k Run (or you can walk) will be computer CHIP Timed. The One mile walk IS NOT TIMED.
Our FREE Kids & Cops Scamper (1/10mile) will start at 6pm and end at our finish line of the 5k course. This is not timed and is a non-competitive event limited to 6th grade & under.
We have also added a dinner alternative for friends, family members and spectators who are NOT registered. For just $10, anyone who has not paid an entry fee for the 5k or one mile can join us for our great post race dinner. We will be featuring Colony Grill Hot Oil pizza truck, the Taco Loco truck, Sierra Nevada Beer, and much more that will be included in our awesome buffet. Since the run and walk will finish just around dinner time, this is a great way to bring family and friends to watch, volunteer or just enjoy a post event meal together. REMEMBER- paid participants in the 5k run or one mile walk are already included in the dinner.
KIDS IN THE FREE FUN RUN DO NOT HAVE DINNER INCLUDED- The $10 dinner ticket is a great option for them and any friends or family that want to join you.
If you can’t be with us, but would like to support our event and its benefactors, you can register for our VIRTUAL Run/Walk. You’ll receive our shirt, race bib and a certificate of completion in the mail. All you need to do is get out there for a run or walk at a time and distance of your choice!

The Friends of the Bigelow Center for Senior Activities is a 501(c) (3) nonprofit volunteer organization. The mission of “the Friends” is to provide funding for enhancements to the programs, services and facilities of the Senior Center of Fairfield, CT. In addition, the organization hosts fundraising events, promotes community awareness and supports the Senior Center through advocacy initiatives.
The Fairfield Police Union Scholarship Fund was started in 2014. Scholarships are awarded to the children of Fairfield Officers as well as students at both public high schools.
