2nd Annual 1-Mile Track Race Series For the Animals - CANCELLED

NOTE: This race has been cancelled due to COVID-19. All participants who had signed up will receive a refund between April 23rd and April 30th.

This summer, partake in a race series where the goal is to improve your 1-mile time over the course of five weeks in the month of July (plus June 30th). Each week will feature a different track around the state of Connecticut. Races will be timed and results posted to the Facebook group and on a shared Google sheet

6/30 (Week 1) - Haddam, Haddam-Killingworth High School; 7/7 (Week 2) - Old Lyme, Lyme-Old Lyme High School; 7/14 (Week 3) - Madison, Daniel Hand High School; 7/21 (Week 4) - East Windsor, East Windsor High School; 7/28 (Week 5) Westbrook, Westbrook High School. PLEASE NOTE: The location address listed is for the first race only - please follow the above schedule to ensure you are going to the right location.

This registration is for signing up for all five races. If you only wish to participate in a couple of the races, individual spots will open unless the full series sells out. THERE WILL BE NO RACE DAY REGISTRATION. Each week there will be three waves of 1-mile races. The first will be at 6:30pm, the second will be at 6:55pm, and the third will be at 7:20pm. You can only run in the wave you are signed up for. Series is no frills, no awards, just get out there and run in the humidity of summer!

All net proceeds after race expenses will be used to purchase needed supplies for two local animal shelters - CT Cat Connection and Protector of Animals. We also encourage participants to bring donations of unopened pet food, unused pet toys or blankets, and cleaning supplies or pet training pads to races for the shelters!

Water and a light snack will be provided post race. Bathroom facilities will be dependent on if the track has an available facility to the public.
