Downtown Duathlon & Children's Community School 5K

Dear Downtown Duathlon Supporters, Athletes & Volunteers:

Our goal was to bring a multisport event and the healthy lifestyle that goes along with it to the great City of Waterbury. This dream came to fruition in May 2014 with your support. After much consideration and review, we have decided to cancel the 2015 Downtown Duathlon, scheduled for May 3. Many factors went into making this decision, including: course management, sweat equity, and competing events on the same weekend, to name a few.

We would like to extend a big thank you to the City of Waterbury, which continues to be a great partner with the Greater Waterbury YMCA in bringing athletic events to Waterbury. Special thanks to the Mayor's Office, Public Works, the Police & Fire Departments, in addition to our sponsors, Webster Bank and St. Mary's Hospital.

Anyone who registered for this year's event will be receiving a full refund and a free entry to a future YMCA-sponsored race event. We will continue to review options for 2016, and will of course, keep you posted. If you have any questions, please let us know.
