Where Does the Money Go?
All proceeds from the Claremont Turkey Trot support the activities and projects of the Claremont Sunrise Rotary via Claremont Sunrise Rotary Foundation. Responsible leadership means more than just doing good work—it means making the most out of every donation we receive. We have identified specific causes to target to maximize our local and global impact.
Activities and projects in which members actively participated include:
- Providing necessities for local students in need throughout the school year
- Hosting blood drives in partnership with Huntington Hospital
- Assembling toiletry bags for homeless
- Conducting ice cream socials for seniors
- Assembling back-to-school backpacks for homeless children
- Building rest pavilion in Claremont Wilderness Park
- Masks, sanitizer, and senior shopping during the worst of COVID-19
- Assembling 1,000 prosthetic arms
- Organizing and leading teens at leadership camp experiences twice each year
The Claremont Sunrise Rotary Foundation also financially supports the activities of other non-profits, including:
- Claremont Little League - bats and electronic scoreboard
- Foothill Family Shelter - housing homeless adults and children
- ShelterBox - emergency disaster relief
- Thundar, Lightning and Peace - helping veterans with trauma
- Uncommon Good - empowering families through education and health
- Haynes Family of Programs - treatment and educational services to children with special needs
- Inland Valley Recover Services - providing substance abuse recovery & counseling
