Covid 19 Guidelines

Clermont Clay 15K

The Covid 19 virus has encouraged us to look at the current practices and procedures for the sanitation of our races and to put things in place that will help to keep the participants, volunteers and staff healthy. These practices will minimize physical interaction between racers, and racers and staff/volunteers. All staff, volunteers and participants will be required to sign a mandatory Declaration of Health upon packet pickup, please familiarize yourself with this document attached below and posted on this page as well.

In these ever changing times, we recommend you familiarize yourself with our refund policy also available on this page, in case the Clermont Clay 15K is switched to an all virtual race as well read and follow  the CDC Guidelines. We will also be updating the page and emailing registrants as we receive new directives from the CDC, City and County officials regarding Covid 19 as it pertains to social events. Should we need to make any changes all participants will be brought up to date.

We will be reducing the touch points at packet pickup and increasing the duration of this process to encourage distancing.  Packet pickup will be conducted at Dash Sports in Downtown Clermont, and  we will distance participants 6 feet apart.  Final instructions will be emailed and posted for participants to see prior to the event.

Regarding the Finish line and spectators, we will continue to follow the CDC Guidelines and letting our participants know if post race festivities will take place as usual or not. Either way we will be providing our participants with a delicious pre-packaged to go snack. We cordially ask our runners to please communicate this with their friends and family so we may execute a fun yet safe event for all.

There will be awards for each 10 year age group starting at 10 and under and up to 70+. Awards will be announced either live or via Facebook live once the event has ended and winners will have the choice to come back to pick up their awards at Dash Sports during the week or have it mailed to them. Again we will follow CDC Guidelines regarding gatherings.

All participants, volunteers and staff will be required to complete a declaration of health stating that they are not infected, have not had or been in contact with someone experiencing any Covid 19 symptoms  14 days prior to the Clermont Clay 15K: cough, shortness of breath, or difficulty breathing, fever, chills, muscle pain, sore throat or new loss of taste of smell.
