Description

This symposium is for Maryland and DC RRCA club members who currently support or plan to support their club though a role on their board, as training lead or coach, or by directing a race or being on the race committee.

This will be a full day meeting designed for RRCA running club leadership enrichment in the areas of governance, training programs, and race directing.

The symposium will have three tracks: 1) governance*, 2) training programs, and, 3) race directing. We will try to schedule the sessions as best as we can to allow most people to attend all they're interested in, but as there will be tracks running concurrently there may be conflicts for individuals. For this reason we recommend your club send several people for coverage, and afterwards share the information learned among yourselves and club leaders who were unable to attend.

We expect many leaders and prospective leaders from running clubs all over Maryland and DC -- what a great way to network and learn from and with your peers!

The full schedule can be seen at https://maryland-rrca.org/symposium/symposium-info/

The nominal fee is used to cover lunch, coffee and snacks. Other expenses come out of the Maryland RRCA general fund. Any donations received will help replenish the general fund.

* governance simply means how your running club is operated and managed to carry out the club's mission, including setting the mission, budgeting, financial oversight, policy development, effective board organization, etc.
