It's Wayland's 3rd Annual GLOW-IN-THE-DARK 5k Run/Walk! 20 minutes south of Grand Rapids, 30 minutes north of Kalamazoo this exciting race/walk that starts at 9:45pm will take you home smiling from ear to ear. Let the kids run the FUN run and help be the change that helps us spread the GLOW. The streets will be shut down and the tunes will be playing at our after race GLOW DANCE PARTY! Runners will be cheered on by Glow Fans young and old!

Packet Pick Up and Late Registration

Packet pick up and late registration will be Thursday, July 14th from 4pm to 8pm and Friday, July 15th from 6pm to 9:15pm at the New Life Community Church office. Those registering after July 6 cannot be guaranteed an official race shirt! However, you may receive a shirt if there are extras.

T-shirt sizes tend to run a little small, keep this in mind when ordering your shirt size as once your registration is submitted we will not be able to change or swap your shirt size. While we do order extra race shirts, we will not be able to swap sizes at packet pickup.

Awards will be given for top male and female finishers in each of the following categories:

and of course Best Glow Costume

Lace up your shoes and start your training routines to see if you can beat your time from last year!

Kids Fun Run

This FUN RUN is approximately one mile around downtown Wayland and will be a BLAST! After the race, kids are welcomed to bounce off their leftover energy in some cool inflatables! 

This FUN RUN is FREE for anyone who would like to run the FUN RUN course. Every child that runs the race will receive a participation award. 

If your child would like to receive an official race number, race t-shirt and some GLOW in the DARK SWAG to wear for the FUN RUN you can register them for just $20! 

The Kids Fun Run is not a chip timed event, but a race clock will be running at the finish line.

Costume Participation/Contest

All participants are encouraged to run/walk in their best and brightest GLOW IN THE DARK SWAG. Those who do dress up are eligible for the costume contest - Best Glow Costume Awards male and female! Light It Up and see if you are the brightest for cool prizes!

Volunteers Needed!!

The “Light It Up” Glow in the Dark 5K can only be a great race experience with the help of many volunteers. Volunteer opportunities involve setting up the course, registration, traffic control, water stations, and more. If you are interested in volunteering, please visit www.lightituprun.com and click on the "I Want to Volunteer!" button on the homepage.

Misc Race Info

Registrations are nontransferable and nonrefundable. Strollers are allowed, but will be asked to line up behind those without them for safety purposes. Animals are not allowed. Walking the course is allowed, but participants must complete the route within 1 Hour. Limited traffic access from 8pm to 10pm on race day. Weather conditions vary from year to year, so dress appropriately. In case of severe weather, event directors reserve the right to cancel without refund.
