COVID-19 - Event Cancellation

Dear RunTimeRaces Community,

After much consideration and consultation with multiple disciplines within our community, our team has made the decision to cancel all 2020 RunTimeRaces events. We have concluded that hosting these events poses an undeniable risk to the public and we’re not willing to take that risk. We also took into consideration the associated liability, economic impact, and our civic responsibility to do our part to help slow the spread of COVID-19 during this pandemic. We will be communicating with our affiliates during the following weeks regarding this difficult decision.

The RunTimeRaces Team

Here Are Your Options:

You understand that events are expensive, even when cancelled, and you want us to keep your registration fees to help cover our costs. We deeply appreciate your generosity and look forward to seeing you at an event soon.

We understand. We hope you can join us next time.

Description

*Please Note* This event is a now a combination of The Superhero Run & The Ready-Set-Glow / Moon Walk. The combining of these events is due to the COVID-19 community gathering restrictions, which requires all affected events to be rescheduled, postponed, or cancelled. This combined event is designed to take place in the evening going forward, but will have to take place in the morning hours for 2020 due to venue availability conflicts outside of our control. We encourage you to wear bright colors / superhero attire (but not required to participate) to brighten our community as we navigate through these unprecedented times together.

Benefiting Senior Nutrition Services Programs (Co-Benefiting Partner)

Senior Nutrition Services provides Meals on Wheels and Seniors Morning Out programs to seniors who are 60 years old or older in Catawba County. We serve approximately 500 seniors each operating day. Approximately 40% of the seniors served are living at or below the poverty level and 47% live alone. Our programs help seniors facing challenges of hunger, isolation and poverty.

Meals on Wheels and Seniors Morning Out are much more than a nutritious meal. These programs are a social connection and a safety check for seniors. Surveyed seniors report that Meals on Wheels helps them remain in their homes and that having meals delivered improves their mood. It only costs $22 to feed a senior for a week and a little over $1,000 to feed a senior for an entire year.

Thank you for being a Superhero for seniors. Together, we are fighting senior huger with every step!

If you would like to know more about our programs or if you are interested learning more about volunteer opportunities, call us at 828-695-5610!
