The HOPE Resource Center provides compassionate care and a safe haven for our brothers and sisters living in the streets battling addiction, human trafficking and homelessness. The HOPE Resource Center also provides screening for risk of overdose treatment, referral and linkage to mental health resources, medication-assisted treatment, benefits coordination, HIV & hepatitis testing along with medical and vocational referrals. They also offer weekly recovery support groups conducted by trained staff in trauma and addiction therapy.
The HOPE Resouces Center, part of HOPE DEALER COMMUNITY, operates in the hardest hit area of Columbus, the "Hilltop" located on the west side of Columbus. This neighborhood sees the most overdoses and overdose deaths in all of Franklin County. The Hilltop also sees the highest rate of homeless people that are homeless due to their untreated addiction & mental health disorders. The HOPE Resource Center needs help to combat this issue. HOPE acts as a bridge between those without phones, cars, homes or knowledge of how to get to a treatment program by providing an informal drop-in center for people to come and get compassionate care (food / drinks/ underwear / shoes etc) along with harm reduction (condoms, Narcan, first aid). During these visits the staff interact with clients, build trust and lend HOPE. When individuals are ready to take a step towards sobriety, the HOPE staff helps them with their many options for detoxification and treatment services.
HOPE operates with a small amount of grant funding for salaries, but the rest of the operation depends on donations and volunteers to operate. You may provide a cash donation here with your registration, or you may visit our website and take a look at the needs of HOPE. They are many ways to help, please take a look here, www.thehoperesourcecenter.org and see where you fit in to the mission.
