Sat May 25, 2019 Directions

Place

Riverfront Parkway - Kuester Island - West Bend

Description

Walk to Remember Our Washington County Veterans is a 2.5 mile walk to raise money to create an endowment to provide flags for the 6,048 veteran grave sites throughout Washington County, in addition to building a monument to honor veterans of Operation Enduring Freedom and Operation Iraqi Freedom in Kewaskum at the Wisconsin 09/11 Memorial.

Race participants are encouraged to walk the 2.5 mile route located in West Bend, beginning and ending at the Riverfront Parkway - Kuester Island, with County Administrator Joshua Schoemann, a veteran, and his wife Jodi along with County Clerk Ashley Reichert and her husband Justin, a Bronze Star veteran and a member of the Washington County Veteran Service Commission. The 2.5 mile loop is only a small portion of the 40 mile ruck across Washington County that Joshua, Jodi, Ashley and Justin will complete that day.
