Event: Berkelium 5K Run/Walk
The Cal Alumni Association (CAA) is excited to host our first-ever virtual Berkelium 5K Run/Walk. Although we cannot physically come together for this fun, Cal-spirited event, we can still participate virtually. To join and have the opportunity to win prizes, register, and complete the race at your own pace by October 16. On October 17, we will host a virtual awards ceremony during our Homecoming celebration!
While this event is free, we invite participants to consider giving to support CAA programming. All gifts support the Cal Alumni Association's programs for the alumni community. With a gift of at least $30, you can sign up to receive a swag bag that includes a shirt and a hat. When you give, you will automatically be entered to win Sennheiser headphones, restaurant gift cards courtesy of Visit Berkeley, and more!
We will be hosting two photo contests via Instagram for “Most Cal-Spirited Run” and “Most Scenic Run.” Winners will get either a BMW for the weekend or a complimentary one night stay in the Cal Suite at the Claremont Hotel. To enter the photo contest, follow and tag CAA (@calalumniassociation), The Claremont Hotel (@claremonthotel), BMW Weatherford (@weatherfordbmw), and use the hashtag #Berkelium5KCAA in your post! Submissions for Most Cal-Spirited Run are from Sept. 10–17. Submissions for Most Scenic Run are from Oct. 1–8.
CAA is gathering video from all participants to create a recap video of this event. The purpose of the video is to show off the indomitable Cal spirit. The theme of the video is "We roll on for CAA" (get it? Roll on you Bears!). We’d love to see you run and hear why you support CAA. Please send all video submissions to berkelium5K@alumni.berkeley.edu, with the subject line "I Roll For CAA", by October 14. Check out our, "I Roll For CAA" page for more information.
