The Tony Meduri TBI Fund Inc. is excited to announce that UF Health Jacksonville will co-host the 6th Annual Tony’s Turkey Trot to expand brain injury awareness and brain injury care. Home to Northeast Florida’s only adult and pediatric Level I trauma center, UF Health TraumaOne, UF Health has a long history of treating patients who experience traumatic brain injuries, or TBIs. TBIs are most commonly caused by falls, motor vehicle and motorcycle accidents, sports-related injuries and assaults. UF Health physicians, nurses, therapists and other health care providers are dedicated to providing cutting-edge care. By participating in the 6th Annual Tony’s Turkey Trot, you advance lifesaving care during the early critical stages of the injury and support the holistic care of TBI survivors in our community. 

We care about your health and safety. While the expectation is for an in-person race on Thanksgiving Day, if conditions require the race to be virtual only, all in-person registrants will have the option of switching to virtual or deferring their entry to 2021.  If the race is permitted to go on in-person but with a limited number of participants, in-person entries will be taken in the order in which they were received. Thank you for your understanding!

Due to Covid-19 and Social Distancing Restrictions, we will have to have new Safety Guidelines in Place:
  • Limited participation for in-person 5K event.
  • No Fun Run/Walk this year.
  • No in-person registrations on race day. Registration will be online only and no cash. Must be preregistered to participate.
  • Introduction to a staggered start. Participants will select a wave time at registration..
  • All walkers will be in the 9:00am final wave.
  • Face covering will be required until participant crosses the start line and after crossing the finish line. Face covering required for entry. Please be respectful of others. Children 3 and under not required to wear mask.
  • To help prevent the spread of Covid-19, individuals who are experiencing signs and symptoms of COVID-19 (symptoms typically include fever, cough, and shortness of breath) or who are at high-risk for exposure are encouraged to stay home. Please visit the CDC website for a full list of symptoms.
  • Please wait in your car until 15 minutes prior to your assigned wave time.
  • There will be no post-race activities. Please pick up your medal, water bottle, and head straight to your car.
  • Please maintain physical distancing of 6ft or greater. Participants gathering in large groups will be asked to leave.
  • Hand sanitizing stations will be available next to the Portatoilets.
  • PLEASE NOTE: We can not switch registration from virtual to live. If conditions require the race to be virtual only, all in-person registrants will have the option of switching to virtual or deferring their entry to 2021. No refunds.
  • Local participants may pick up their race packet during the assigned pick-up window.
  • Packet pick-up will be located at: One Ocean Resort & Spa: 1 Ocean Blvd Atlantic Beach, FL 32233 on 11/25/20 from 10am-7pm.
  • Race Day Morning 6:00am-8:45am at event site
  • Face coverings are required to pick-up your race packet. 
  • Please maintain physical distancing of 6ft or greater.
  • Must be "healthy" to attend race packet pick up.   • ONLY Registered Participants will be permitted to pick-up race packets. 
  • Virtual Packet Pick-Up: For 5K out of town participants packets will be via USPS. Please register prior to 11/16/20 to ensure timely delivery. VIRTUAL EVENT Closes on 11/23/20
  • PARKING- One Ocean parking is for overnight guests only. We will have spaces reserved in the lot to the right of One Ocean, in front of the Seahorse Oceanfront Inn. The parking attendant will need to see your registration confirmation on your phone or print out.  Parking will be free (up to 30 min) for you complete your race packet pickup. Please be courteous of our sponsor and do not park in the hotel unless you plan to patron the hotel.                                                                
  • Our race course takes you through the most beautiful areas of Atlantic Beach, including the halfway turn in front of Atlantic Beach Country Club. 
  • PLEASE NOTE: There will be no half-turn water station on the course this year. Please bring your own water bottle.
  • THERE WILL BE WATER AT FINISH LINE sponsored by Nestle Waters while supplies last.
  • The 5k begins at 7:00 a.m. and the route will start at the intersection of Atlantic & Ocean Blvd, in the heart of the Beaches Town Center!  
  • The event will take place rain or shine. No refunds.
  • This a fun, family event. Strollers are allowed in final wave.  
  • Only registered participants allowed on race course. Participants must show race bib to receive a finishers medal.
  • Want to create a team? Just need 5 or more members to form. 
  • Teams with 10 or more will need to assign one person to pick-up race packets for the entire team. Unless other arrangements are made.
  • We will not correct team registrations if a participant did not select your team name upon initial registration.
  • We cannot replace lost or misplaced bibs and shirts.
  • Team Awards:(1) for most participants and (1) first place finisher. All awards will be mailed.
Unfortunately, to maintain safety of our guests there will be no on-site awards ceremony.
  • All registered participants receive a Custom Designed Tony’s Turkey Trot Die Cast Finisher’s 5k Medal 
  • AWARDS will be mailed to the TOP OVERALL Male/Female, TOP Male/Female MASTER, TOP Male/Female GRANDMASTER. $100 1st place, 2nd place $75, 3rd place $50 Male and Female Overall
  • Gift card for the best Thanksgiving theme costume will be awarded.                                                         
  • $5 discount for Active Duty Military. Must send photocopy of current Military I.D.
  • Children 4 and under are FREE for the 5K with adult registration. (Does not include t-shirt.)  
  • BRAIN INJURY SURVIVORS ARE FREE. You still must complete registration.

  • There is limited parking in the area. There is a large parking lot at 500 Atlantic Blvd Neptune Beach, across from McDonald's. Please do NOT park south on Ocean Blvd  on Neptune Beach side (near North Beach Fish Camp and Pete's Bar area). You will be blocked in and subject to tow due to their street festival. Atlantic Blvd headed south after East Coast Drive to the Roundabout and Ocean Blvd to Ahern Street will be closed from 6am-11am Thanksgiving morning. 
  • Your participation in this event will help us continue to raise awareness for traumatic brain injury survivors, support TBI survivors, and promote helmet safety in youth sports. Our nonprofit founded n 2015, in honor of retired police officer Tony Meduri, who suffered a traumatic brain injury. In 2011, he was hit by a drugged, uninsured driver while sitting at a red light. After months in the hospital, he required 24/7 care and had to give up his home, love of cars, and life as he once knew it. Tony passed on but we continue the mission to support TBI survivors.
  • Please remember, this event is for charity and we do our best to make it a positive experience for all. Please be courteous to the volunteers on race day.
  • Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, some aspects of our event may have been cancelled or changed in accordance with City Guidelines. Please check back regularly for updates.
  • Sorry, NO REFUNDS. The event will go on rain or shine.
  • We cannot refund Runsignup.com processing fees for any reason. 
  • We cannot exchange t-shirt sizes. 
  • We cannot guarantee t-shirts for registrations after Nov. 17th.

  • WEDNESDAY, NOVEMBER 25 10am-7pm
  • Safety Guidelines for Covid-19: Mask is REQUIRED for pick-up, if you do not have one we will provide one for you. There will be only one entryway and one exit. Please do not enter through the One Ocean Lobby. You will need to enter from outside of the building and follow the signs. No IN-PERSON registration, only online registrations.
  • We are unable to change or switch your dry fit custom shirt sizes for any reason. A friend or family member may pick up your registration, however we are NOT responsible if it gets misplaced or lost .
  • We cannot guarantee t-shirts after 11/23.
  • TEAMS: any team with 5 or more must assign 1 person to pick up for the team- anyone added to team after 11/23 has to pick up separately
  • PACKET PICK UP PARKING:There will be special parking for race packet pick up at the Sea Horse Parking lot. Please show your registration page via printout or mobile to the attendant, Please limit your parking to 30 minutes so we may accommodate all race participants.
  • Day of Race you may also pick up your packet from 6:45:am - 7:45 am. We close packet pick up promptly at 7:45 in order to start the run on time.
  • NO RACE DAY REGISTRATION and EVENT IS RAIN or SHINE- so dress appropriately please 
  • PARKING IS LIMITED in the Beaches Towne Center, large parking lot available at 580 Atlantic Blvd, just a few blocks away near Lucky's Market across from McDonald's 
  • EVENT IS RAIN OR SHINE, in event of bad weather we will begin 5k an hour later then start time.
